Two Stories Told from A black And White Person’s Perspective #TheYearWeMispronounceBack

True Story One …. (Told from a black person’s perspective)

This one time a white colleague was about to have a baby so he asked some of us for names to give the kid. Me being me, I proposed he name the child Bongani or Mbalenhle if it’s a girl. He responded with ” That’s Absurd!”

I chuckled because I knew it was. Imagine a white, asian, or indian person named Bongani or Mbalenhle. Or like a black person named John, Timothy, Ralph….oh wait😂😂😂

Shout out to my parents for not give me a colonial name. Phela I have 3 entire names not once did the rents look at me as a kid and say ” Yazi white people will struggle pronouncing Mzomuhle Sbongumusa Msomi so let’s give him a name like Samuel” 😂😂😂

True Story Two … (Told from a white person’s perspective)

This one time a black colleague was about to have a baby so he asked some of us for names to give the kid. Me being me, I proposed he name the child Thomas or Christina if it’s a girl. He responded with ” That’s Absurd!”

I chuckled because I knew it was. Imagine a black person named Thomas or Christina….oh wait😂😂😂

Shout out to my parents for not give me a black name. I have 3 entire names not once did the rents look at me as a kid and say ” You know black people will struggle pronouncing Thomas Anderson Oosthuizen let’s give him a name like Thabo” 😂😂😂
