Spiritual Reflections of Molehe Mphasa #Post3 ‘Transformation’

The list of Goals and to-do’s are getting longer or shorter every new year depending on where you are in life. Those that are hopeful will add more to their list of goals and try to achieve more and the pessimists will shorten their lists. Either way a new year bring about hope for a new life, growth and transformation in some areas.

When speaking to the church in Rome, Paul says that those that want to renew themselves have to do so by allowing God to change the way they think. The process of transformation is inward first.

Romans 12:2 Do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God.

Some think that happiness is a byproduct of relationships and can only be reached once they find a significant other, so they jump in and out of different relationships, but nothing ever changes.

Some want to get married but continue to live their lives in a way that makes no space for the companionship.

Some are unhappy because of childhood trauma but refuse to see a psychologist and they continue to create more and more unhealthy coping mechanisms. Let me tell you buddy, you got to do the work.

I hope as you set your goals for 2020, that you commit to doing the work that really matters. Deal with the trauma, have the difficult conversations, be vulnerable and have the guts to ask for what you need.
