Dear Nelson Mandela University – By NMU Alumni Abongile Lonke Ketsiwe

Dear Nelson Mandela University.

I arrived home at 1am after graduating, my village was waiting to celebrate with me. Yesterday I learnt that we inspire many without knowing and by this I wish to give my sincerest gratitude for giving me an opportunity to be an inspiration in my village.

It was a 3 year course which I started in 2010 and only in 2019 I get the qualification. I never knew it had a greater meaning in the end, the 10years I spent were full of tears as I constantly thought to myself I am a failure but I refused to give up .

You exclude me 3 times as my record was not looking good however after many appeals with my department, Mr A Roberts still took a chance on me and for that I am truly greatful, He even started knowing my face and name and was very hard on me but never forgot to motivate me telling me its possible.

For repeatedly giving me a chance your were giving a chance to many whom I didn’t know are drawing inspiration. You gave a chance to my village.

Yours Sincerely
Nelson Mandela University Alumni
