WHEN FAITH WHISPERS… By Logan Sekele

Everybody was happy, they were singing nice tunes, rejoicing and
praising the Lord. They continued with their journey as they went down
the dusty, stoney and unsafe road through the Drakensberg Mountains.
The road was mostly feared for the terrible accidents that happened
there especially when it is rainy because it would get muddy but there
was no other way across the town.

As they went down the road ,the weather started getting cloudy and
cold air started whispering around, it looked like there was a heavy
rain coming. The lightning bang/the thunder groomed and suddenly there
was silence in the bus.

When they looked in the way, there was a huge, massive dark cloud in
front of the bus, it was so dark that no one could see through it. A
man stood up and said “Pastor, this road has killed many people,
especially when it is rainy. We better get going faster before the
road start getting muddy or else we will be stuck and die here”.
One woman from the back screamed and said “No Pastor! are you trying
to kill us? You have to stop the bus, there’s no way we are risking
our lives by going through that dark cloud. How are you going to drive
while you can’t see through it? ”

The pastor didn’t know what to do, he kept on going but slowly.
Some started getting angry and siding with the woman. They were
calling him(Pastor) names, swearing and insulting him, some even
accused him of trying to kill them and some called him satanic. There
was a war within the bus.
But still the Pastor kept on going but slow.
Another woman stood up and said “Pastor, which part of ‘stop the bus’
don’t you understand? ”
I was so shocked to see how people quickly turn to forget God, I was
so suprised because it looked like they don’t have faith in anything .
Next to me there was a young lady who kept quiet and read her bible,
what was going through her mind?  I wondered.

The Pastor felt down and shocked. He looked at them and said ” Men and
Women of God, there is a heavy rain coming but yet you want us to stop
while we know how deadly this road is. What if it gets worse than
this? What are we going to do and how long are we going to stop here?
The Pastor asked.

The woman replied and said ” it’s that what you care about?  Our lives
are at stake and you only care about the time we are going to spend
here?
The Pastor said a prayer for a moment and he after said “The Lord is
with us, nothing is going to happen to us because we are protected by
the almighty father. God said I will be with you through the good and
the bad times. God is with us and through that dark cloud we are
getting through with his grace and power. The almighty God.
Suddenly, the lady who sat next to reading her bible this whole time,
stood up and said ” why are you all angry?  Have you lost faith, have
you forgotten whom to praise and tell all our problems? ” She opened
her bible and quoted Isaiah 41 verse 10 says “Do not be afraid- I am
with you, I am your God- let nothing terrify you.  I will make you
strong and help you; I will protect you and save you. ”

They were touched by the Pastor and the young lady’s words, they were
reminded of what they have forgotten. They were reminded that God is
always with us, he always protects and saves us from harm.  They
slowly sat down and then again, there was silence in the bus.

The Pastor continued to drive and reached the huge cloud standing
their way, it was all dark you couldn’t anything on the outside. They
couldn’t see where they were going.
But it didn’t last long, the dark cloud was disappearing and the
clouds were also going away. The weather started getting sunny, fear
faded away and everyone was so happy. They continued going and safely
reached their destination.

Moral:
Sometimes when people face situations, they lose faith in God. The is
nothing powerful as a prayer ,whatever situation you are going through
remember God is for all people and always pray for his guidance. God
knows everything we are going through and he will always be there to
protect, provide and save us..
