Pearl Thusi & Cassper Nyovest Have Been Posting About Saving Money Lately #moneymatters

Following up to the previous article we published on Cassper Nyovest going on a cost saving frenzy, it now seems like he’s not alone in his journey. It seems like the real black pearl AKA Pearl Thusi has now joined in on the initiative.

A peak at her Instagram shows photos of her working out at home with a caption reading “expensive gym membership for what?? I know its great to work out in a facility but just know you have options”, which is true, a good gym membership at a good facility with good equipment can cost well over R500 a month and we all know most of us just like having gym membership just in case you wanna go to gym once in a while, which is like 10 times a month or so.

In other pictures she’s seen using UberX which is the low cost Uber option, tagging her ‘body guard’ dogs for a jog stating that they are a cheaper alternative as they only charge her in dog treats. Her and Cassper started posting about saving money almost at the same time, one can’t help but wonder as to what the hell is going on?? One minute one is buying a premium car and the next they talking responsible money management? Well whatever it is they up to we seem to think it’s a good initiative and big ups to them.

What do you guys think? Maybe its an initiative sponsored by some organization to help inspire the millions of South Africans in debt and still spending recklessly to change their ways and start spending wisely?? Or maybe it’s a promo initiative for a TV show that they will be hosting together?? Or maybe they just feel like saving their money, how about that?? Let us know what you think.

Quick side note, did you know that most consumers owe as much as 75% of their monthly salaries to creditor?? Over 50% of home owners are struggling to pay their home loans and over 60% of South Africans are battling to pay off their credit card debt. Real scary stats which to some degree highlight the need for more responsible management of our money.
