It Seems A Second Life Might Be Possible In The PSL

Sbu-attack
Before I wrote this piece I first had to take down any form of address or picture down so no one will be able to identify me. Well be warned what you say or share on your timeline too, a few days back Radio Dj and personality Dj Sbu was attacked live on air over comments he made about Moroka Swallows.

Whether the attack was spoofed or not remains another topic for another day.

First I had to scratch my head hard to remember who and what is Moroka swallows anyone still remember that team that got relegated from PSl in 2014/2015 season and got relegated again 2015/2016 from national first division yes that is the team, it used to wear maroon and white and sponsored by VW and Siyabonga Nomvete was their player (forgive me for trying hard to remind you just it is hard to remember something’s) so there have been talks that the team wants to buy its way back into PSL and the price tag is R55 million and the question I asked myself was, is it worth it?

Well I am not a soccer fan but I support development and the natural work and reward pattern so the news that a team will jump from 3 divisions lower into PSL disturbed me. If PSL sign on this deal I guess it will technically mean teams with money don’t get relegated because they will buy a second life anyway. This will mean the development of soccer and the competiveness of this sport come secondary to money. This will in-turn mean PSL is just a status for the big teams with big pockets instead of a big league for hard working teams.

Talk about 9 lives Moroka Swallows is displaying capabilities to boost 10, but lastly I think the question I wish you can answer when you share this post is whether you believe this deal makes business sense? Investing R 55 million in a team that was relegated twice in 2 years (I am somehow a Moroka Swallows fan, wish my security tactic will work)

We see you trying to buy a second life.
