“Inserts a financially impressive quote from Rich Dad Poor Dad” Robert Kiyosaki

The urge to ball out is within all of us, no matter how frugal you are seen to be, you still go through the normal everyday temptations to go out and get that pair of jeans, heels or latest car you been googling for the past month. It’s a given that we all like nice things and at one point given the hard work we put ourselves through, it seems only fair for your material possessions to be reflective of the sweat and effort you put in.

“Spoil Yourself that’s important” Kanye West

I pride myself in being financially literate and having the ability to plan my spend wisely; yet come that one weird day that I’m walking through the mall and see that one pair of sneaker that stands out, mind you I’m a recovering sneaker addict, been a couple months clean so I’m good now. I still go through that personal internal struggle of trying to convince myself why this specific purchase is worth it…. And there I go weighing out my options, then finally a couple of minutes down the line after punching through some numbers on my calculator I decide neh I’ll let this one slide.4993240babf1d36102ce988083147a09I put up a Facebook status the other day that read “Sometimes I just want to know that I can afford something, not that I’m gonna actually be dumb enough to go ahead and purchase”
For example, I love cars, well not as much as some people but I do to a fair level, I currently drive a fairly economic car, would love to upgrade to a more classy model, yet when I look at the plans I have for my excess cash, my calculations don’t allow for me to go ahead and do it, so being the case I’m only happy knowing that I can afford that sports car, BUT my money’s got bigger priorities than for it being spend on depreciating assets.

Most of the time short term visions allows for people to get themselves into debt, that’s why as cliche as it may sound but making plans and setting goals for everything assists you with daily decision making, if you have plans to buy a house in the next 12 months, or plans to start up a business in 6 months and you know you gonna need capital for, then you daily spending habits will be aided by your futuristic plans, you will in that case stay away from frivolous spending with a view of the future.
maxresdefault (1)So don’t be impulsive and try to get happiness via spending, nor should you attempt to try let the whole world know you have a lot of money by buying flashy items that will lead you into a tight corner, it ain’t tricking when you got it, so no need to be flossy nor try and impress.
